MetroConnect ("the app") is an independent transit companion for the New York / New Jersey region, published by AI Gaur LLC. It is not affiliated with the MTA, NJ Transit, or the Port Authority of NY & NJ.

Data we collect

None leaves your device. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of its own.

Location

If you grant the optional approximate-location permission, it is used only on your device to show nearby stations. Location is never stored, transmitted, or shared. Denying it simply defaults the Nearby screen to midtown Manhattan.

Data stored on your device

• Your preferences (selected transit systems, favorite stations, saved commutes, recent searches) — stored locally, deleted when you uninstall.
• Optional NJ Transit developer-API credentials, if you enter them — stored in Android's encrypted storage (AES-256, hardware Keystore) and sent only to NJ Transit's official API to sign in.
• A cached copy of public transit schedules and live feeds, for offline use.

Network requests

The app fetches public transit data directly from official sources: MTA GTFS-Realtime feeds (api-endpoint.mta.info), NJ Transit's developer API (raildata.njtransit.com), and the Port Authority's public PATH data (panynj.gov). Requests contain no personal information.

Data sources & accuracy

Schedules and live estimates come from cached agency feeds and may lag official sources. Always confirm critical trips with the agencies' official apps.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
